Parent Resources and Support
During this period of school closure, learning in the home will be a partnership between parents, students, and teachers. For most families, this means an adjustment to daily routines. Our teachers are here to support you.
Here are a few things to consider to help support your child in his/her at-home learning:
- Work together to create a designated work space, if one does not already exist, to support a routine for at-home learning.
- Routines and schedules are important- even for older children. Work together to create a schedule (breakfast, lunch, academic time, breaks, independent reading, etc.). Be sure to look at the minimum time requirements for each subject for PK-8 (see specific grade level pages). Be consistent with the schedule.
- Which learning environment suites your child best? Does he/she need a quiet learning environment or can he/she work with light background noise?
- Teachers are available to help. Does your child have his/her teacher’s email address or has he/she been added to the teacher’s Remind group?
