Paris ISD announces 2026-2027 Paris Promise Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council

Paris ISD is proud to announce the students selected to serve on the 2026–2027 Paris Promise – Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, a group created to give students a meaningful voice in their school district.
Now in its third year, Paris Promise brings together students in grades eight through 12 to meet with Paris ISD Superintendent Althea Dixon throughout the school year. Students selected for the council remain members through their senior year, allowing them to build on their experiences, develop as student leaders, and continue representing the voices of their classmates throughout their time in Paris ISD.
The council provides students with an opportunity to share their perspectives, discuss issues that matter to their peers, and offer ideas that can help strengthen the student experience across the district.
Through open conversations with district leadership, council members are encouraged to speak honestly about what is working well in their schools, where opportunities for improvement exist, and how Paris ISD can continue creating an environment where students feel heard, supported, and connected.
“Paris Promise gives us the opportunity to hear directly from our students,” Dixon said. “Their experiences and perspectives are important, and these conversations allow us to better understand what they see, what they need, and what ideas they have for making our schools even stronger. I am excited to work with this year’s council and hear what they have to say.”
Members of the 2026–2027 Paris Promise – Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council are seniors Caroline Gillem, Peyton Nelson, Akshay Bacharanianda, and Angel Cardenas; juniors Araceli Herandez, Ivan Gonzalez, Brooklyn Chapman, and Traelin Washington; sophomores Hazel Del Toro, Sevin Reed, Jaxx Leach, and Camila Prado; freshmen Lyric Montesdeoca, Jaxen Jones, Amelia Elliott, and Kentravion Harrison; and eighth graders Emiko Omori, Grace Biard, Krish Bacharanianda, and Jhorden Shaw.
Throughout the year, these 20 students will serve as representatives of their classmates, bringing student perspectives to the table and helping build stronger communication between students and district leadership.
Paris Promise reflects Paris ISD’s commitment to listening to students and giving them an active role in conversations that shape their educational experience.
