Paris ISD campuses once again joined schools and youth organizations across the country in celebrating Start With Hello Week, a program created by Sandy Hook Promise to promote inclusion, connectedness, and a sense of belonging among students.
Throughout the week, Crockett Intermediate, Aikin Elementary, Justiss Elementary, and T.G. Givens Early Childhood Center each hosted activities designed to help students recognize the power of a simple “hello” and the importance of making sure everyone feels seen, welcomed, and included.
Students participated in activities throughout the week that encouraged them to reach out to others, make new connections, show kindness, and help build a stronger and more supportive school community.
As part of the week’s celebration, Paris ISD also brought a little extra Wildcat spirit to each campus. Members of Paris High School Blazettes, cheer, Cat Gut, football, volleyball, soccer and baseball teams joined younger Wildcats for morning greetings. Paris Junior College baseball players also joined in the fun, helping welcome students to school with high-fives, smiles, and plenty of excitement.
While each campus celebrated Start With Hello in its own way throughout the week, the message across Paris ISD was the same: small actions can make a big difference. A smile, a wave, an invitation to join in, or simply saying “hello” can help someone feel like they belong.
Start With Hello Week empowers young people to create a culture of kindness, connection, and belonging—one hello at a time.
