Paris High School Blue Blazes Earn Sweepstakes Award

The Paris High School Blue Blazes Band has once again demonstrated excellence in music performance, earning the prestigious Sweepstakes Award following outstanding performances across multiple categories.
To achieve a Sweepstakes distinction, a band must receive first division ratings in three rigorous areas of evaluation: marching, concert performance, and sight reading. The Blue Blazes Band met this high standard by earning first division ratings on the concert stage and in sight reading, which, combined with their earlier first division rating in marching season, secured the coveted Sweepstakes trophy.
This accomplishment reflects the dedication, discipline, and growth of the student musicians and directors throughout the year.
Band Director Bryan Ewing praised the group’s effort and commitment to excellence:
“Earning a Sweepstakes award is always something to celebrate. This year’s journey may have looked a little different, but it speaks just as strongly to the hard work and determination these students show every day. They rose to the challenge and performed with heart, and I am incredibly proud of what they accomplished together.”
The Sweepstakes Award is one of the highest honors a band program can achieve, recognizing consistent excellence across all phases of performance. The Bands’ success is a testament to the strength of the program and the continued tradition of pride within Paris ISD.
Paris ISD congratulates the Blue Blazes Band on this remarkable achievement and for representing Wildcat Nation with excellence.
