Paris ISD Students Earn Top Honors at Texas Crime Stoppers Conference

Paris High School students recently had an outstanding showing at the Texas Crime Stoppers Conference held in Amarillo, Texas on February 23-25, earning multiple statewide honors and recognition for their leadership and commitment to promoting safe schools and communities.
One of the conference’s most prestigious honors, the Traveling Trophy Award, was presented to the Paris ISD Crime Stoppers program. The award recognizes a campus Crime Stoppers program that demonstrates the attitude, spirit, and dedication necessary to inspire others to be their best. The trophy is currently on display in the Paris High School front office as a symbol of the students’ hard work and leadership.
Paris ISD students also earned significant recognition through the Texas Crime Stoppers Student Ambassador Program. In addition to Takoda Chambers and Brandon Dao, students Naomi Omori and Arjan Khadka were selected as state ambassadors. More than 40 students from across Texas applied for only six available openings. Through their applications and interviews, the Paris students secured four of the twelve ambassador positions across the entire state.
Adding to the week’s accomplishments, Brandon Dao was elected to serve on the Texas Crime Stoppers State Board as a student advisor. In this role, he will attend four board meetings and serve as a voice for youth involved in Crime Stoppers programs across Texas. Brandon becomes only the fourth student in the state’s history to serve in this highly selective position, a testament to his leadership and dedication.
The conference was filled with memorable moments for the Paris ISD students. “These students represented Paris in an incredible way,” said program sponsor Angela Calvin. “Their leadership, commitment, and the way they support one another truly make Wildcat Nation proud.”
