Paris High School Students Excel at SkillsUSA Area Competition

Students from Paris High School recently demonstrated their talent and technical skills at the SkillsUSA District 5 Competition, earning top honors and advancing to the state level.
SkillsUSA is a national organization that helps students develop leadership, workplace, and technical skills in career and technical education programs.
Students from the Commercial Photography program, under the direction of instructor Jennifer Cook, competed against students from across the region in a variety of categories.
Several Paris High School students earned recognition for their outstanding work:
• Ava Johnson earned 1st Place in the Commercial Photography contest, advancing to the SkillsUSA State Competition.
• Lindsey Holleman and Clary Biard advanced to the state competition in Job Exhibit.
• Will Fraser and Isabella Brockman received District of Excellence Awards in Job Exhibit.
Students from the Automotive Technology program, led by instructor Jim Hyatt, also earned top honors:
• Aaron Crumpler – 1st Place Medalist, Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair and State Qualifier, Job Exhibit – Automotive Rear Wheel Drive Differential
• Ramon Gonzalez – State Qualifier, Job Exhibit – Automotive Rear Wheel Drive Differential
• Matthew Koenig – State Qualifier, Job Exhibit – Automotive Rear Wheel Drive Differential
• Jose De La Cruz Garcia – State Qualifier, Job Exhibit – Automotive Rear Wheel Drive Differential
• Jayden McQuay – 3rd Place Medalist, Automotive Tool Identification
“These students represented Paris High School exceptionally well,” said Cook. “Their creativity, technical ability, and professionalism truly stood out among a strong group of competitors.”
Paris ISD is proud of the dedication and hard work these students have shown through their participation in SkillsUSA and looks forward to cheering them on as they compete at the state level.
