Crockett Intermediate student wins Lamar County Spelling Bee

The Lamar County Spelling Bee, held February 4, brought together the county’s top twelve student spellers for a thrilling showcase of academic excellence and composure under pressure.
Representing eight schools — Aaron Parker Elementary, Aikin Elementary, Crockett Intermediate, Excel Christian Academy, Justiss Elementary, North Lamar Intermediate, Paris Junior High, and Stone Middle School — students competed for the county title and the opportunity to advance to the regional level.
Emerging as this year’s champion was Seth Loza, a sixth-grade student from Crockett Intermediate School. Seth demonstrated outstanding preparation, focus, and confidence throughout the competition, earning the top honor and a place at the next level of competition.
Taking second place was Ryker Echo, a fifth-grade student from North Lamar Intermediate School. Ryker’s strong spelling skills and steady composure made for an impressive performance and a well-earned runner-up finish.
As Lamar County champion, Seth Loza will advance to the Regional Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 7, at WFAA Studios in Dallas, where he will compete alongside top spellers from across the region. The community wishes him continued success as he represents Lamar County on the regional stage.
The achievements of these students reflect their dedication, the support of their teachers and families, and the strong academic culture across Lamar County schools. Their accomplishments serve as an inspiration to students throughout the county.
