Aikin Elementary Hosts Third Annual “Reading Under the Stars” Family Night

Aikin Elementary recently welcomed families for its third annual Reading Under the Stars event, a beloved tradition that celebrates the joy of reading and the importance of family time. The fall evening provided the perfect backdrop for families to gather with blankets and books, enjoying stories together beneath the night sky.
The event continues to be a highlight of the school year, offering families a chance to unwind, connect, and experience the magic of literature outside the classroom. Children and parents alike shared stories, laughter, and memories that will last well beyond the evening.
Aikin Reading Coach Vickie England shared her gratitude for everyone who helped make the night a success. “A big thank-you to the PJC baseball players, PJH Student Council members, and our wonderful Aikin teachers who volunteered to make this event possible,” England said. “We had a great turnout, and it’s always heartwarming to see families connecting and sharing the joy of reading together under the beautiful night sky.”
The continued success of Reading Under the Stars reflects Aikin’s commitment to fostering a lifelong love of reading while strengthening the bond between school and community.
