About the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees consists of seven members elected to serve, without compensation, for overlapping terms of three years each. Elections are conducted in May. While candidates run for specific places, they do represent 7 single member districts specific geographical areas. Following the election, the board elects a president, vice-president and secretary to serve for one-year terms.

The next board of trustee election is scheduled for May 5th of 2018. Places up for election will be place 1, place 4 and place 6. 

The school district and other municipalities will share in the cost

Application Process

  • Anyone may pick up a candidate packet from the Paris ISD Elaine Ballard Administration Building, 1920 Clarksville Street.  Filing packets will be available for pickup. 
    • First day to file an application for a place on the ballot – Wednesday, January 17, 2018
    • Last day to file – Friday, February 16, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
  • The term of office for school trustee is three years.
  • All applications filed are public records and open to inspection upon request.
  • Completed forms must be filed in the Elaine Ballard Administration Building.

While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.
