The mission of Paris ISD's bilingual program is to meet the educational needs of students whose native language is Spanish.  Students in PK-6th  grades are served in the bilingual program.  Bilingual classrooms are located on the Givens, Justiss, and Crockett campuses.

La misión del programa bilingüe de Paris ISD es satisfacer las necesidades educativas de los estudiantes cuyo idioma nativo es el español. Los estudiantes en los grados PK-6 se atienden en el programa bilingüe. Las aulas bilingües están ubicadas en los campus de Givens, Justiss y Crockett.

Bilingual instruction in the native language provides access to the curriculum while the student is acquiring English; instruction in the native language assures that students attain grade-level cognitive skills without lagging behind.

There are benefits that will be gained by your son/daughter when he/she participates in a bilingual education program.  Because your son/daughter hears Spanish at home and/or speaks Spanish with other children, he/she would benefit from bilingual instruction.  The bilingual education program provides your child with Spanish instruction by a teacher who also speaks Spanish to make sure that he/she understands what the teacher is saying; therefore the student achieves his/her own potential.

Hay beneficios que su hijo (a) ganará cuando él / ella participe en un programa de educación bilingüe. Debido a que su hijo o hija escucha español en su casa y / o habla español con otros niños, se beneficiaría de la instrucción bilingüe. El programa de educación bilingüe le brinda a su hijo la instrucción en español de un maestro que también habla español para asegurarse de que entiende lo que el maestro está diciendo; por lo tanto el estudiante alcanza su propio potencial.

English is clearly an important language for success.  Your child will receive daily instruction in English, and as he/she becomes more able to understand and speak English, more of the teacher's instruction will be in English.  The concepts and skills learned in Spanish will transfer to English.  Knowledge that your child acquires through learning to read, and completing assignments in mathematics, science and other subject areas in Spanish transfer to English as he/she learns to understand and speak English.

El inglés es claramente un idioma importante para el éxito. Su hijo recibirá instrucción diaria en inglés, y a medida que él / ella sea más capaz de entender y hablar inglés, más de la instrucción del maestro será en inglés.
