Non Prescription and Prescription Meds
Medication administration is highly discouraged at school. However, If it is necessary for your child to receive medication during school hours, specific instructions must be provided to the school nurse and school personnel. A consent form for prescription and or non-prescription meds must be signed by he parent giving consent for the med to be administered. The medication must be brought to and kept in the nurse's office. It must be in the original container labeled with the child's name, name of medication, and specific dispensing instructions. The school will not give out of date medication.
Asthma Medications
Student's with asthma who should carry their inhalers must have signed consent from their physician and parent confirming the child's knowledge of the med and how to administer it, and permission to self-administer.
