Paris High School students swept the VFW Voice of Democracy competition. Anthony Pierotti won first place, Matthew Cochran second, and Zach Lamb third. They will be recognized at an awards dinner in their honor on Dec. 20, and Pierotti’s essay has advanced to the regional competition.
Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme is My Responsibility To America.
All three students are in Sandra Strom’s Advanced Placement English IV class.
