Justiss Elementary celebrated our nation’s heroes, our veterans, with a Veteran's Day Assembly and brunch. During the assembly, Boy Scouts Troop 2 posted the Colors and members of the Justiss Student Council led the school in the pledges. Fourth grader Amari Lawrence sang the National Anthem followed by second graders from Brooke White's class singing "Free Like Me. Paris ISD employee and Army veteran, Eddie Elmore, and his grandson, second grader Kai Furtch, read the Soldier's Creed. A musical salute to the troops was followed by a moment of silence. "Taps" was played before the retiring of the Colors. White's class closed the assembly with the song "Battle Hymn of the Republic." The Annual Veteran's Day Breakfast was held in the library following the program.
