PHS Students Earn All-Region Choir Chairs

The Paris High choir program placed eight students in this year’s High School Region Choir as the result of auditions held Oct. 15 in Mount Pleasant.  They return to Mount Pleasant on Nov. 12 to participate in a clinic/concert.

They also qualify for pre-area auditions on Nov. 29, the next step in a progression of tryouts leading to potential selection in an all-state choir.  Senior Deja Sikes entered the large school track and is eligible for selection in the All-State Mixed Choir or the All-State Treble Choir, while the remaining seven students, who entered the small school track, will be competing for chairs in the Small School All-State Choir.

That group is comprised of seniors Tieren Gates and Tierra Ellis, juniors Jake Freelen and Averi McFadden, and sophomores Rhea Tabora, Nicholas Reed, and Nick Leija II.

All-Region Selections:

· Soprano 1: Tieren Gates (1st chair), Averi McFadden (4th chair)

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
