Paris ISD will no longer offer remote instruction for students who fail to meet basic academic stand

Paris ISD will no longer be offering remote instruction for those students who fail to meet basic academic standards by the end of the current grading period.  While many students are successfully participating in virtual learning at Paris ISD, many others are disengaged in instruction and continually neglect to complete required assignments.  This outcome is unacceptable in light of the District’s educational mission.

Paris ISD has an obligation to appropriately educate its students, even in the middle of a national health pandemic.  While our teachers and support staff are diligently working to implement virtual learning, it is apparent that some students are failing to satisfy the basic requirements of this program and consequently, are not receiving the benefits of a Paris ISD education.

Of course, if students at-risk of losing the virtual learning privilege demonstrate a medical need to remain in remote instruction, the District will consider and approve those requests as necessary. We will also continue to offer remote learning to those students who apply themselves and succeed under this model of instructional delivery.

This decision is made with the best interests of our students, teachers, and school community in mind.  We appreciate the patience and understanding of everyone affected by this change.

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
