Mike Tibbets, Senior Project Manager at Hayter Engineering, recently talked to students in the Concepts of Engineering class at Paris High School about rewarding career opportunities in the engineering field.  “I am very blessed to have a job where I can make a good living and enjoy what I do,” he said.

The different types of engineering such as civil, structural, chemical, and electrical and what those engineers do was discussed.  Tibbets explained how physics, chemistry, biology and math are used to solve problems and gave examples of how engineers use these applications.

Tibbets is a member of the Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee.

Deborah Andrews, Paris High School’s Concepts of Engineering instructor, said, “We appreciate Mr. Tibbets and all our business partners for bringing current industry information to our students.”

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
