PHS Receives Golden Football As Part of NFL’s Super Bowl High School Honor Roll

Paris High School received a golden football from the NFL this month to commemorate the 50th year of the Super Bowl.

In an “initiative recognizing schools and communities that contributed to Super Bowl history and positively impacted the game of football,” as stated in an NFL press release, the NFL sent a golden Wilson football to the nearly 2,000 high schools around the country that an athlete or head coach who has competed in a Super Bowl has graduated from.

Nearly 3,000 players and head coaches were recognized by the NFL as part of the newly formed Super Bowl High School Honor Roll and PHS’s own, Raymond Berry (Class of 1950), holds membership in this elite fraternity.  Berry was head coach of the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX played on January 26, 1986, and that qualified the school for the Super Bowl High School Honor Roll.

Photographed with the golden football awarded to PHS to commemorate the 50th Super Bowl are Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Steven Hohenberger, Principal Chris Vaughn, PHS senior football player Quez Allen, and Superintendent Paul Jones.

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
