A group of 69 Paris High School students bolstered their knowledge of safety in the workplace by earning their Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification from the U.S. Department of Labor. Armed with their OSHA 10 certification, these students learned how to recognize worksite hazards as they move ahead to become the electricians, carpenters, engineers, and healthcare providers of tomorrow.
Dr. Angela Chadwick, Director of Career & Technical Education, said “Workplace safety is an extremely important piece of being job ready as well as being prepared for the hands-on projects that are a vital part of our instruction. Our goal for Career and Technical Education students is for them to better know and understand their role in the workforce. There is nothing more important than their safety and that is why we provide the training and certification in OSHA General Industry and OSHA Healthcare.”
