Paris ISD recently hosted its first district-wide Black History Program, which was an evening filled with celebration, education, and community spirit.
Each campus within Paris ISD participated enthusiastically, with students showcasing their talents and knowledge through a variety of performances and presentations. These included musical performances, dramatic readings, dance routines, and spoken word poetry, all of which underscored the achievements and contributions of Black individuals throughout history.
The program was designed to honor and highlight the pivotal roles that Black individuals have played in shaping society. From leaders in the civil rights movement to pioneers in science, art, and literature, the event paid homage to those who have paved the way for future generations.
With the success of this inaugural event, there is hope and anticipation that the Black History Program will become a cherished annual tradition in Paris ISD. The program not only educates and entertains but also strengthens community bonds and celebrates the rich tapestry of cultures that make up the district.
