Crockett Intermediate student wins Lamar County Spelling Bee

The Lamar County Spelling Bee, held on February 5, showcased the linguistic talents of the county’s top twelve spellers. This annual competition brought together students from various schools, all vying for the prestigious title and a chance to advance to regional competitions.

Paris ISD students made a significant impact at the event, clinching the top three positions. This remarkable achievement highlights the dedication and preparation of both the students and their educators.

Seth Loza, a fifth-grader from Crockett Intermediate School, emerged as the champion of the competition. His outstanding performance and poise under pressure earned him the top spot and the honor of advancing to the next level.

Securing second place was Onas Bridges, a sixth-grader also from Crockett Intermediate School. Onas demonstrated exceptional spelling skills and composure throughout the contest, earning him a well-deserved runner-up position.

Amelia Elliott, a seventh-grader from Paris Junior High, claimed third place. Her impressive spelling abilities and determination were evident, as she competed fiercely among her peers.

As the champion of the Lamar County Spelling Bee, Seth Loza will advance to Regional Spelling Bee. This competition is scheduled to take place March 8, 2025 in Dallas and will feature top spellers from across the region. We wish Seth the best of luck as he prepares to represent Lamar County on a larger stage.

The success of these students is a testament to their hard work and the support of their schools and community. Their achievements bring pride to Lamar County and serve as an inspiration to fellow students.

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
