Paris ISD Students Participate in Veterans Day Poster Contest

Students from Aikin Elementary and Justiss Elementary recently showcased their creativity and patriotism through a Veterans Day poster contest. This event was proudly sponsored by Signature Home Health & Companion Care and Waterford Hospice. The theme for the contest was "Proud To Be An American," requiring students to incorporate a strong veteran-related element into their artwork.

This morning, the winning students were celebrated for their outstanding contributions during a special ceremony held at Paris Coffee Company. Each winner was presented with:
     A Certificate of Achievement: Recognizing their talent and dedication.
     Monetary Prize: To encourage them to continue pursuing their creative endeavors.
     Paris Coffee Gift Card: A token of appreciation for their hard work and creativity from Steve Martin, owner of Paris Coffee Company.

Winners from Aikin Elementary 4th grade are:
     1st place Brantlee Sparks
     2nd place Tripp Jones

Winners from Justiss Elementary 4th grade are:
     1st - Oliver Estrada
     2nd - Bristynn High
     3rd - Arleth Contreras
     Honorable Mention - Yael Cardenas

Danielle Termin, Business Development Representative for Signature Home Health & Companion Care and Waterford Hospice, expressed her admiration for the participants, stating, “It is our greatest honor to serve those who have served this wonderful country and to pass on the importance of selfless service to the younger generation. We were so touched by the patriotism shown in the submitted works of art!” With plans to continue annually, this competition promises to be a staple in the community's Veterans Day celebrations, ensuring that the legacy of veterans is never forgotten.
