This past Friday, students from the Paris ISD Enrichment classes had the opportunity to embark on an exciting educational adventure with a field trip to the Museum of the Red River, The Museum of the Red River is home to art and archaeology from around the world and the Oklahoma State Dinosaur, Acrocanthosaurus atokensis. This excursion offered students a chance to explore the rich cultural heritage and artistry of the Red River area.
Upon arrival, students were warmly welcomed by the museum staff and guided through an inspiring tour of the museum's diverse collection. The tour highlighted a wide range of art pieces, each telling a unique story from the Red River region. Students marveled at the intricate designs and historical significance of the artworks, gaining a deeper appreciation for the cultural richness of the area.
In addition to the museum tour, the students participated in an engaging class where they had the opportunity to create their own clay sculptures. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students learned about various techniques used in sculpture-making. This hands-on activity not only sparked their creativity but also helped them understand the effort and skill required to create such fascinating works of art.
