Lamar County Head Start recently held its inaugural Big Breakfast event, aiming to establish a tradition for the future. The event brought together students, parents, and volunteers from the community to cook and organize a delightful breakfast. Parents eagerly participated, relishing the opportunity to share a meal with their children, who were offered a selection of pancakes, eggs, sausage, and bacon. Beyond the food, the event served as a platform for parents to engage with one another and with staff members, fostering connections that may not typically occur due to various constraints.
The occasion was made possible with the generous support of dedicated community members who volunteered their time and effort. Special recognition goes to organizations such as United Way, Red Cross, Safe-T, City Square, Paris Pregnancy Center, and the Lamar County Health Department for their valuable contributions in serving students and families. Their involvement not only enhanced the event but also underscored the spirit of collaboration and community support that Lamar County cherishes.
