Paris ISD Statement on Teacher Pay Raises

Paris ISD Statement on Teacher Pay Raises

After waiting for the Texas Legislature to take action on teacher pay (they still haven't), the Paris ISD Board of Trustees approved a 3 percent pay increase for teachers at the Board meeting on Monday night.  This is a minimum raise, and legislative action could possibly lead to higher salaries.   All other employees will see pay increases next year, as well.   Although medical insurance premiums for the copay plan are increasing monthly from $421 per employee to $485, the Board also approved a recommendation to continue paying the premium cost up to $485, depending on the coverage selected. Without additional state funding, some of the costs of these pay increases and insurance premiums must be paid for with the district's fund balance.  We are hopeful that the Legislature will take appropriate action during their special session to replace this deficit budget, and we are thankful that our Board recognizes the important role that each employee plays to make our district great.

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
