The Paris High School Marching Band won the 4A and 5A Class at the Northeast Texas Marching competition on October 10. They placed second overall.
In addition, the band finished its marching competition season Oct. 13 at the Region 4 UIL Marching Contest where they earned First Division which is the first leg of making Sweepstakes for the year.
According to Band Director, Charles Grissom, the band must earn all 1’s at the UIL Concert/Sightreading Contest to be held March 2 at Pleasant Grove High School to earn a Sweepstakes.
PHS Drum Majors are Romy Newberry and Adryan McGuire. “The kids have had a great year. They have worked really hard and we are extremely proud of their accomplishments,” said Grissom.
