PHS TAFE Members Earn Blue Ribbons at State Conference

The Paris High School chapter of the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) attended the TAFE Teach Tomorrow Summit at the University of Houston Jan. 30—Feb. 1, 2016.

TAFE is a co-curricular and statewide non-profit student organization created to allow young men and women an opportunity to explore the teaching profession. TAFE’s mission is to encourage students to learn about careers in education and assist them in exploring the teaching profession while promoting character, service, and leadership skills necessary for becoming effective educators.  Awards the PHS chapter received at the Teach Tomorrow Summit are:

Project Visualize Contest – First Place

Itzuri Ramirez, Jessica Ibarra, and Amber Powell 

Teacher Created Material – First Place
Laney Madding

Additional state finals qualifiers were  Maria Gonzalez, Ataria McCuin, Carol Sanchez ,TJ Spence, and Carol Ann Starnes.

Summit sponsors were Kim Ekstrom and Dr. Angela Chadwick.  The PHS chapter sponsor is Tori DePriest.
