Paris High School Future Educators bring home multiple awards from State Competition

Students from Paris High School brought home several state awards from the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) Teach Tomorrow Summit, held March 3-6 at The Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX.

Lizette Rodriguez was elected as the TAFE State President for the 2022-2023 school year. Rodriguez was chosen out of 7 other candidates by a voting delectation of her peers.

Madelyn Tullos will be representing Paris High School at the national level in Creative Lecture. This makes two years in a row that students in the PHS TAFE program have advanced at this level of competition.

The following students received a Blue Ribbon:
● Chapter Yearbook - Lizette Rodriguez, Patricia Garnes, and Shawna Lindsey
● Project Visualize: Educational Awareness - Lizette Rodriguez and Patricia Garnes
● Goal Setting - Seleen Dacus and Katie de la Garza

Leilin Hamner received recognition as the outgoing 2021-2022 Area 6 Historian. In this position, Hamner helped plan a successful area conference.

PHS TAFE Chapter sponsor Emily Steele said, “I am so proud of our students with how they excelled not only in their competition but their demeanor and professionalism. I look forward to seeing what great things these students achieve.” The Educators Rising national competition will take place in Washington, D.C., June 24 - 27.

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
