Technology Grant Enables Paris ISD To Keep Students Connected

The Texas Education Agency announced recently that Paris Independent School District and 147 other Texas school districts and charter schools were awarded a 2018-19 Technology Lending grant.

The Technology Lending grant program provides school systems funds to purchase technology devices that are loaned to students for access to digital instructional materials off campus. The grant provides personal student learning devices and Internet access for students who would not otherwise have access to digital instructional materials off campus. Thus, it seeks to ensure equitable access to quality digital resources and courses.

The $100,000 grant will enable Paris High School to purchase Chromebooks and wireless Internet access devises to loan to students. These will be in addition to the Chromebooks available for student checkout that were purchased with the 2014-2016 Technology Lending Grant.

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
