Kiwanis Club of Paris recently invited Paris ISD campuses to compete in a food drive. Aikin Elementary collected the most items to win the competition. The district collected a total of 2,353 non-perishable food items.
Kiwanis Club president David Nichols and community affairs co-chairman Robert High accepted the donation from Superintendent Paul Jones and Aikin Elementary principal Kimberly Donnan. Aikin students Britney Young, Jayla Rodriguez, and Zahra Tapia represented their school as the winning campus.
Christina Peters, of Lakes Regional Community Center and sponsor of Kiwanis Aktion Club, will supervise Aktion Club members in sorting and packing food boxes for families in need.
