Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!

Highly Qualified Teachers - Parent Notification

The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 states that any teacher hired after the first day of the 2002-2003 school year to teach in a Title I A program must be "highly qualified". In addition, the law requires all local educational agencies to have a plan to ensure that all teachers in the LEA teaching in core academic subjects are "highly qualified" by the end of the 2005-2006 school year.

Paris ISD strives to hire highly qualified teachers and each year submits a report to the Texas Education Agency.  Results from each year's report is available in the district Annual Report.

Parent Notification Concerning Teacher Qualifications

Compliance with P.L. 107-110,

Section 1111 (h)(6)(A)

As a parent of a student in the Paris Independent School District, you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers who instruct your child, and Federal law requires the school district to provide you this information in a timely manner if you request it.  Specifically, you have the right to request the following information about each of your child's classroom teachers:

  • Whether the teacher meets the state qualifications and licensing criteria for the grades and subjects he or she teaches.

  • Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or provisional status because of special circumstances.

  • The teacher's college major, whether the teacher has any advanced degrees, and the field of discipline of the certification or degree.

  • Whether paraprofessionals provide services to your child and, if so, their qualifications.

If you would like to receive any of this information, please contact Gary Preston, Assistant Superintendent of Personnel & Student Services, at (903) 737-7473.

Please vote for Zy'kius Jackson for the Red River Valley Athlete of the Week

Voting will remain open until 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The winner will be announced on Thursday.
