Communicable Illness

For the protection of all students and staff, the following rules have been set up and will be followed at all times.

A child will be sent home with:

* Fever of 100 degrees or more

* Suspected contagious disease

* Vomiting

* Diarrhea

* Severe or continuous complaints of pain

If your child has any of the above symptoms in the morning before coming to school, please keep him/her at home.  If they have been sent home ill, they should be free from illness for 24 hours before returning them to school.  Please make sure that your child has been fever free for 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medications, before returning to school.  It is our desire to provide the safest and healthiest environment for your child while at school.  With your cooperation, we will be able to meet this goal.

Flu is a serious contagious diseaseTake action and protect yourself and loved ones from the flu by:

- Getting the flu vaccine.  Yearly flu vaccine is the number one way to protect yourself from getting the flu.  The vaccine is extremely important for people at high risk for complications, including young children, pregnant women, people with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes and heart disease, and people 65 years of age and older.  People who live with or care for someone at high risk should also receive the vaccine.

-Use everyday preventative actions.  Simple things such as remembering to cover your mouth and nose while sneezing or coughing, throwing your tissue into the trash after using, and frequent handwashing helps stop the spread of germs.  The CDC also recommends that those who are ill stay home from work or school, and away from close contacts until they are no longer contagious.

-If you get the flu, take flu antiviral drugs if recommended by your physician.

For more information on the availibility of the flu vaccine you should contact your physician, local pharmacies, or the local health department.

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
