Aikin students participated in American Heart Association’s Hoops for Heart Fundraiser

Aikin students participated in the American Heart Association's Hoops for Heart (HFH) fundraiser. HFH is a national education and fundraising program jointly sponsored by SHAPE America and the American Heart Association. It promotes physical education and provides children with knowledge of heart disease and stroke while raising funds for cardiovascular disease research, stroke research, and health education.

The top fundraisers in each grade will be PE teacher for the day. Students who raised at least $50 received a Hoops for Heart t-shirt in addition to other prizes. PE teachers Eric Hicks, Betty Wallace, and assistant Robin Halcomb conducted the fundraiser.

The top fundraisers (from left) in front are Aiden Jenkins, Evan Bryant, and Grady Welch. On the second row are Isabella Davis, Ayden Wicks, Gage Plata, and Mason Miller. In back are Robin Halcomb, Eric Hicks, and Betty Wallace.

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
