Paris ISD - Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Conflict of interest disclosure requirements, passed by the 79th Texas Legislature in HB 914, became effective January 1, 2006.  Local Government Code, Chapter 176, requires Paris Independent School District to maintain a public Internet list of local government officers and disclosure statements covering conflicts of interest. Disclosure is required of officers of the district and their family members with regard to persons or agents contracting with the District or persons or agents responding to District quotations, bids, proposals, or requests for qualifications if:

  1. the person has employment or other business relationship with the local government officer or a family member resulting in the officer or family member receiving taxable income; or
  2. the person has given the local government officer or family member one or more gifts (excluding food, logging, transportation, and entertainment) that have an aggregate value of more than $250 in the twelve month period preceding the date the officer becomes aware of an executed contract or consideration of the person for a contract to do business with the District.

Statements must be filed within 7 business days after the officer becomes aware a conflict of interest exists.

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
