Parents of PJH girls' athletes are invited to attend an informational meeting concerning Paris Junior High Girls Athletics. The purpose of this meeting is to ensure that protocols and policies are understood concerning athletics within Paris ISD.
Parents and students are reminded that Paris Jr. High has changed its grading periods from six to nine weeks' duration. However, eligibility to participate in extracurricular events is governed by UIL guidelines. There are numerous "UIL Checkpoints" listed on the school calendar (online) where students may lose and/or gain UIL eligibility. The document can also be found on our "News and Announcements" website page. Although the first nine weeks' grading period doesn't end until Friday, October 17, the first UIL checkpoint is scheduled for Thursday, October 2. Students who are failing any class will become ineligible on that date.
SLAM (Study Like a Maniac) is our after school tutorial program. Students needing extra assistance in core content areas (reading, math, science, or social studies) may stay after school for help. Snacks and transportation are provided.
The mission of the Paris Independent School District is to provide a quality education to a diverse student population, enabling each to achieve full potential and become a productive, responsible citizen.
