PHS student selected as Top Ten in Texas

Paris High School senior Anthony Pierotti was selected as a Top Ten winner of the Department of Texas Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Voice of Democracy Scholarship program for 2016-2017.

The top ten students in the state were provided an all-expense paid trip to Austin to attend the Mid-Winter Round-Up and be a guest of honor at the annual Voice of Democracy Banquet. As part of the weekend festivities for the honorees, the Top Ten met with the Lieutenant Governor and had a special tour of the State Capitol.

They also toured the Texas State Cemetery, the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and the LBJ Library.  They were special guests at the State Officers’ Reception and attended a Memorial Service before departing Austin.

Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ premier scholarship program.

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
