Paris High School Theatre Department presents Brothers Grimm Spectaculation

By Amy Burrows, PHS Theatre Sponsor

Directed by Paris High senior Maggie Maxwell, the short play Brothers Grimm Spectaculation attempts to recreate all 2,019 of the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm in a wild, fast-paced extravaganza.  To make it more difficult, the production attempts to combine them into one gigantic fable using Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and other more obscure stories like Lean Lisa and The Devil's Grandmother.

These are not your Disney fairy tales.  When two humorous narrators, played by seniors Alex Montellano and Caroline Janes, attempt to blend these often not so wholesome tales the hilarity begins.  It’s fun and laughter for all with the help of audience participation.  Content matter is appropriate for 6th grade and older.

Showtimes are Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 8, at 2:30 p.m.  All performances will be held in the PHS Black Box Theater where seating is limited.  Admission is $2 for students and $5 for adults.  Patrons should use the staff parking lot nearest the ag building and tennis courts.

Cast members include Caroline Janes, Alex Montellano, Abby Cannon, Daniel Gamino, Wyndon Johnson, Josephina Mata, Ana Luna, Adryan McGuire, Shelby Wilson, Savanna James, Sommer James, Hannah England, Madison Turner, Kala Vickers, Bridger Gottshalk, Caitlin Simpson, Molly Law, and Reagan Stone.

It’s story time with Reagan Stone as Cinderella and Shelby Wilson as the wicked stepmother.

Daniel Gamino, Hannah England, and Madison Turner prepare for opening this Friday.

Quick Tip Information

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.

Submit from App
SchoolMessenger Quick Tip app is available for both iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android devices (Google Play). Download SchoolMessenger Quick Tip App. When launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the school district code. The school district code is paristx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911!
